The three components of our program are thoughtfully integrated to ensure your success:

1. Personal, Weekly Sessions (in-person or via Zoom)

Coaching sessions are not “lessons” or informational lectures. They’re personal, heartfelt conversations that help you learn from the things you did last week, clarify your individual goals for the upcoming week, get motivated, and be accountable to yourself.

  • Choose In-Person or Online Coaching:  Currently, we only have one “brick & mortar” Insulin IQ Authorized coaching facility. It’s located in Orem, Utah. If you’d like to be coached there, you’re welcome to do that. However, if you don’t live near this location, we offer exactly the same program via Zoom.
  • Targeting Struggles, Celebrating Successes:  What went well last week? What didn’t? Coaches listen to and answer your questions. They provide the support you need to stay focused and move ahead.
  • Achievable, Weekly Goal Setting:  Our goal-setting framework accommodates individual needs. We’ve found that most action items fall under Your Nutrition, Your Behavior, and/or Your Plateaus. Your coach helps you set goals and you’ll conclude each session with a clear direction for the upcoming week.

  • Course Content:  Your coach will spend a few minutes each week during your private coaching session discussing the reading you’ve been doing that week inside our flagship course, Reversing Insulin Resistance in 90 Days:

  • Your Needs:  Your coaching sessions are your personalized, individualized time and your coach will accommodate your wants and needs. You have the freedom to take those visits in whatever direction you feel like will best help you achieve your goals. However, it’s important for you to know that we never want you to feel obligated to come to your coaching session with an “agenda” if you don’t want to. That’s why you’ve hired a coach. Your coach will be well prepared each week to follow up with you on the goals you set last week, to fine tune where needed, and to set specific new goals with you for the upcoming week.

2. Individualized Nutrition Guidance

Sometimes we’re asked, “Which diet does Insulin IQ promote?” Some expect to hear an answer like “a Mediterranean, paleo, or keto diet,”  for example.

For many reasons, we’re not tied to any specific, mainstream diet that’s subject to broad interpretation (and misinterpretation). Our Insulin-Smart Eating Method is based on one thing, and one thing only—how what you eat and drink individually affects your insulin.

We help fine-tune your own nutrition strategy and make nutrition-related behavior adjustments for achieving your individual health goals.

  • The Insulin-Smart Eating Method:  Insulin-Smart Eating is our proprietary nutrition method focused on reversing insulin resistance and achieving lifelong insulin control through 1) understanding the science-based truths about nutrition and meal planning, 2) becoming a mindful and intuitive eater, and 3) adjusting as needed for individual success. (If you’d like a deeper dive into the specifics of Insulin-Smart Eating, you can read more by clicking here.)

  • Deliberate “Unlearning”:  Sounds strange, right? Unlearning? Many times people can’t move forward until they’ve shaken off the chains of dogma that have hampered their progress for years. Unlearning is liberating. We help you seek and find nutritional truths.
  • Nutrition-Related Behavior Guidance:  Nutrition is the foundation, but other factors such as improving sleep, reducing stress and increasing physical activity play a role in reversing insulin resistance. We support you in these related objectives for long-term lifestyle success.

3. Dynamic, Multi-Faceted Learning

What is “dynamic” learning? We define it as learning that isn’t static. We’re always updating our program based on the things we’re learning and the successes our coached clients are having.

Proven Science and Expert Answers:  We seek science-based nutritional truths and then build on them to help people get healthier. We provide practical solutions based on eight years of coaching experience.

  • Our Flagship Course:  Insulin IQ clients begin their learning journey with our flagship course, Reversing Insulin Resistance in 90 Days.
  • Outside Resources:  Your coach will recommend books, articles, studies and blogs specific to related topics such as improving sleep, reducing stress and increasing physical activity.
  • IIQ Group Coaching “Hangouts”:  Each week we do an online, group coaching “hangout.” Two of our coaches will share a short concept or something that happened during the week at IIQ that we believe will be helpful for you. The rest of the time is used as a Q&A session where you get the opportunity to not only hear from IIQ coaches, but also learn from other clients in our program.
